We aim to use the most up to date production methods, tubing and components standards to provide up to date steel hardtails that will last a lifetime. Concepts based around the 28" 3 speed hubbed wheel, also mixing old with new. Using remakes of older style components i.e. Sturmey Archer, with NOS components. My influence has been very much around the old style French/ British bikes as you can see with the "Porteur" and "Roadster". I have built the bikes for my own use and interest. It is about the design and creation of something hopefully people will consider as beautiful. I have wanted to keep all contruction and finishing of the bikes centered around "Coventry". Ted James Design is a new company started by myself, Ted James - rider, designer, builder. I've only been building frames for three years, but have been thinking about it for nearly 30. I come from a mountain bike and BMX background and have always been interested in the development of the design technology, which lead me to design a fixed gear trick frame and components in collaboration with 14 Bike Co. All my work is manufactured in the UK. Everyday work is frame renovations and repairs, custom builds, prototyping and riding.
